Our Story

SiSTEM was born from a vision to empower Black and Latinx women in engineering and technical roles—a vision rooted in the need for community, representation, and resilience in a field that often feels isolating. Founded by Maya and Chloe, seasoned engineers and advocates for inclusivity, SiSTEM is more than a collective; it’s a movement designed to elevate, support, and celebrate diverse women in tech.​

We offer our members a rich array of experiences, from curated experiences and interactive workshops to professional development events and skill-sharing circles. Through initiatives like SiSTEM Circles, our members connect on a deeper level, sharing insights, challenges, and solutions in a supportive, welcoming space. Our monthly social events, day trips, and hands-on workshops allow us to break from the grind, build meaningful connections, and recharge together. SiSTEM also drives impact through education and research. Our independent studies and reports focus on the unique challenges faced by underrepresented groups in tech, sparking conversations and inspiring real change within the industry.​
